I have a pretty big update today.

Octopod has moved! 🧳 ✈️ 🌍

Yes, after spending most of my natural life in the USA 🇺🇸 I have flown the coop and setup residence in Asia now. 🙌

You may have noticed fewer posts in December. Between launching and implementing the Craken Spices & Seasonings line, the Yerba mate line and relocating half way across the world it’s been one of the busiest times in my life and I thank you for your continued support!

You might be asking yourself what prompted this move?

Quite simple really.

2018 was my first intro to traveling to Asia (HK and Mainland specifically). I was blown away by the food, culture, security, cleanliness, efficiency… and much more.

Since then I’ve travelled back to different parts of Asia numerous times.

Then a few months ago I got an offer through my culinary network to relocate in Asia and work with you a high-powered restaurant group.

Truth be told I’ve really missed being in restaurant kitchens frequently so this gets me back in that fray plus being in my favorite part of the world.

The food culture in Asia is superb and being in ground zero gives me easier access to dozens of food communities and cultures all within a stones throw of a plane ride.

After months of negotiations, visa applications and travel I am now officially in Asia 🙌

I will be floating between Shenzhen & Hong Kong, and a few other mainland China cities.

For those wondering, I’m cooking primarily European cuisine in a professional setting.

Christmas was spent in Hong Kong, my first in Asia!

What does this change for Cooking with Octopod?

Nothing!

All my cooking recipes, family meals and knowledge took the journey with me. I’m just in a new place now.

The bonus is I will be adding some Asian spins, tips and recipes that (most importantly) translate easily into home kitchens.

Thank you for your continued support and I’m excited for the new content to be shared here with you from another part of the world, all while cooking with you in your home kitchen.
