Childhood Chocolate Brownies

A Nostalgic Memory

Chocolate lovers usually have opinions:

white, milk, dark? All of the above?

When it comes to brownies the discussion is probably more intense.

Light and cakey?

Dense and fudgy?

Chunks added?

Nuts added?

While there may be no “ultimate” brownie I can say for certain that this recipe is in the top tier.

Growing up overseas meant that return visits to the US 🇺🇸 meant visits to huge grocery stores with aisles of flavored cereals as far as the eye could see 😂

It felt like going to DisneyLand.

My parents also had a friend in the US with a homestyle diner and this is an adaptation of the chocolate brownie recipe that was been imprinted on my palate since I was a youngster.

To check, I used my parents as the guinea pigs and they confirmed this was a replica of that nostalgic brownie from years ago… the brownies vanished far too quickly and were distributed to many other friends who are now indoctrinated.
