This is, without a doubt, one of the most diverse and exciting culinary ingredient categories to explore. Most people are familiar with a few varieties but miss out on a whole treasure of trove of lesser known options. Add to that
You may also avoid buying “new” varieties because you have no idea 1) best way to cook them, 2) flavors that harmonize and complement said mushroom.
There is so much variety in mushroom world 🍄 🌍 with flavors of sweet and piney to deeply earthy and meaty… one thing is for certain… mushrooms contain a ton of umami so being adept at cooking a number of varieties makes you a better cook…. and tastier food opportunities 🤌🤌
