Chicken wings are without a doubt one of the most popular, global, craveable, crushable food preparations.
While fried chicken is the pinnacle of bird-eating-nirvana for a lot of foodies, many believe now that the humble chicken wing provides the best of all worlds.
-Dark, tender meat
-A perfect blend of fat and collagen
-Skin waiting to be treated and crisped up
-And a convenient handle (in the case of drumettes) that make eating convenient
-All ready to be seasoned and sauced up for your eating pleasure.
The best wings have a crispy, crunchy outside and a juicy, tender interior. This texture contrast is the same that makes french fries and onion rings so craveable.
Wings are a classic item on any pub/sports bar menu and some people can’t watch their Sunday football without an order of wings by their side.
Now we have giant food chains that have based their entire menu on wings with well over 50 flavors and variations…
There’s even wing-eating contests… with people basing their status off how many dozens of wings they can crush at one time… 😂
So wings aren’t going anywhere and with rising food prices now is the perfect chance to make delicious wings at home that pack more flavor, yet are still simple to prepare.
So why do a lot of people not want to make wings at home?
Most people find deep-fat frying to be cumbersome and impractical at home.
Further, batters and dredges can be messy and when cooking at home people usually want to keep it simple; ie you go out to order the messy foods so you don’t have to clean them up yourself, amiright? 😂
Or you have the wing-delivery option, but let’s be honest… who wants to eat wings that have been sitting around and steaming in a box while waiting to be dropped at your doorstep? 🤢
