Hoping you all had a great Thanksgiving and Holiday Weekend 🙏
Got many dm’s from the paid subscribers that went home as culinary heros… few things as satisfying as wowing your friends and family with delicious food that sends tastebuds to the moon 🚀
Also glad to see so many of you taking advantage of the Black Friday and Cyber Monday bargains.
Now that the holidays madness has settled for a few days I’m back in the kitchen to drop more Fall/Winter recipes for you.
Pears Everywhere 🍐
Been doing a lot on pears 🍐 so far because they are largely neglected. Apples tend to take the spotlight leaving pears in the culinary basement while cooks all over make pies, crisps, cobblers, tatins, etc.
I love apples dearly but pears have a unique and intoxicating aroma that is one-of-a-kind.
If you made the Pear Relish for your Turkey Day feast you already know that pears aren’t just for making desserts. In fact, I dropped a recipe thread on Twitter today showing you how to make the most delicious Pickled Pairs infused with warming spices. Def bookmark that. It would make a great holiday gift.
This is one of those OG recipes that requires some maturing time after canning. It’s well worth the wait!
If you’re looking for a pear stunner to impress your frens, add the Pear Upside Down Cake drop from last year to your ToDo list before the season is over.
It is heavenly!
Today we are going to hit another dessert perfect for this time of year. It’s a classic combination that tends to be underwhelming or straight up not good. People end up butchering the pears… or use a wine that isn’t optimal… or worst yet… make it a sugar bomb 😑
When done correctly this dessert showcases the wonderful perfume of the pears and is supported by a cast of wonderful characters like wine, cream and spices.
Let’s make this sublime dessert together… you can even make ahead and have on hand to make you look like a culinary master 🙌
