Refined is fine, it's in my rotation of avocado oil, palm oil, ghee, lard, etc... As far as brands, would depend totally on your geographical location. Seems you're already good to go as you're asking about refined vs unrefined 👍
Easiest way is to blanch or steam them first until al-dente. Cool to room temp (or freeze for later use), then fry at 360F until golden brown. Ultimate is steam, low fry, high fry, but it's more time consuming.
Are both unrefined and refined peanut oils interchangeable with vegetable oil?
Unrefined peanut oil imparts the taste of peanuts onto the food so idk...
Also if you had some brand recommendations for peanut/palm oil that'd be much appreciated.
