Last week I made the mistake of using a jug of drinking water I had left over to make my morning coffee (instead of my usual fridge-filtered water). Tasted like absolute hell. I couldn’t believe the difference it made.

Also, any recommendations as far as a maker goes? French press? Something else?

Well...my coffee sucks. (I ran out of your beans)

I have the customized water and am throwing some Lavazza Dek Decaf Whole Bean Espresso beans in my Gaggia Babila and it's coming out bitter / acrid.

What gives? (grind size set to 3, highest water temperature)

maybe the beans... or possibly the the machine is over-extracting the grounds; grind coarser or decrease the water pressure/infusion time to get a faster shot. DM me if you want more info

Unrelated, but I recently burnt eggs onto my carbon steel pan and was wondering how to best clean it?

try kosher salt with a tiny bit of water to dampen... then use it as an abrasive to scrub the crap out of it. Otherwise put on your burner full blast and let it "burn off". Then re-season a few times until you have a nice coating.

Make sure you're using enough fat and pan is hot enough to avoid in future 🤝
